The otherwise intelligent and resilient man in this story recognizes the folly in that, so comes to think of these encounters in the shadowy world of sex and drugs as adventures; as fantasies separate and apart from the reality of his everyday life.


He finds it more and more difficult to keep fantasy separate from reality, however, as the torment that ever permeates his being remains with him and seeps from him as he ventures back and forth from the one realm into the other, until something startling happens that changes everything.
